I am a graduate of Johnson C. Smith University, currently employed with the City of Charlotte. I have always had a passion for working with kids which dates back to my earliest years. I grew up volunteering with my Aunt who, for over twenty years, coordinated programs for the Department of Recreation and Parks in Baltimore, Maryland. In this capacity, I saw firsthand the effect of positive role models for the youth. This passion extended to my college years where I worked with the Advancement Via Individual Determination Program (A.V.I.D.) and the Communities and Schools Program (C.I.S.). Both programs work hand and hand with a mission of providing youth with resources and empowering them to stay in school.
